The experience and industry relationships of the manager is the most important factor in the success of a MIC. The manager's origination and underwriting skills define the character of the MIC’s portfolio.

David has over 30 years of experience in the insurance and wealth management industries. In 2000, David founded Torce Financial Group, a financial brokerage firm associated with over 1000 financial brokers in offices across Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. The firm markets and distributes insurance and financial investment products to retail customers on behalf of major insurance companies and financial institutions. Previously David served as Regional Managing Director at Canada Life where he focused on agency goal-setting, execution, and development of the Asian markets, work for which David was awarded the Canada Life President’s Award for outstanding leadership. He also served as Vancouver Chapter President of the Life Insurance Management Association (LIMRA).
In addition to his role as Principal of Torce Financial Group, David is also President of RESCO Mortgage Investment Corporation and has been a featured speaker at multiple insurance and wealth management industry conferences.
Prior to immigrating with his family from Hong Kong to Canada, David worked in management accounting for 8 years at Hong Kong’s Mass Transit Corporation and was a member of a UK professional accounting body. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
David joined the Markham Richmond Hill Vaughan Chinese Business Association (MRVCBA) in 1999 as a Director with the primary objective of promoting and exploring business opportunities with the Chinese Business community. In 2005, he was elected President of MRVCBA and after fulfilling his two-year term as President, he continues to serve on the MRVCBA Board of Directors. Expanding membership and providing more resources and business assistance to help members grow their businesses remain David’s primary goals. He is also a former Chair of the United Way York Region Major Gifts Committee.
Will Sung has been active in the real estate industry in Toronto since 1984. In 1989 he established Landstars Realty Inc. Since joining the Century21 franchise system in 1991, Landstars Realty has earned and maintained the status of a 'Centurian Office' within the organization. 'Centurian Office' is an honourable recognition granted to those offices with remarkable sales achievement. Will Sung is reputable within the industry for being creative and pioneering.

During the recession of the early 90', Sung innovatively cultivated a Canadian Asian market along Highway 7 between Leslie Street and Bayview Avenue in Richmond Hill of Ontario. His success in launching over one million square feet of commercial condominiums to Asian entrepreneurs then has been regarded as a real estate miracle. He is currently the owner of Landstars 360 Realty Inc. Brokerage. Besides being the founding director of the Richmond Hill & Markham Chinese Business Association, Will Sung is also the President of the Vaughan Chinese Business Association. His mission is to bring forth a closer tie between the Canadian entrepreneurs and their Chinese counterparts.
Chris Graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Science degree (Biology) in 1989 and with a Bachelor of Art degree (Economics) in 1991 and obtained his mutual funds license in 1993 and completed the CSI Branch Compliance Officer course in 2002. Chris joined TD Canada Trust in 1992 and held a number of senior positions within the organization such as Director of TD Mutual Funds, Personal Loan Officer, Branch Manager and District Vice-President for Greater Toronto Area managing over 16 branches and 280+ employees. Chris then joined iBrokerPower Capital Inc. as Vice-President Business Development and at the same time served as Director for Ginkgo Mortgage Investment Corporation from 2011 to 2013.

Chris is a licensed mortgage agent registered with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. He is also a member of Independent Mortgage Brokers Association of Ontario (IMBA) and Canadian Association of Accredited Mortgage Professionals (CAAMP). Chris successfully completed the Partners, Directors and Senior Officers course offered by Canadian Securities Institute as well as the Exempt Market Products course by IFSE.
Phoebe earned her degrees and certifications from the University of Waterloo and the University of Washington. She developed strong analytical and project management skills working as a Research Development Coordinator at Harborview Medical Centre in Seattle and at Rush Medical Centre in Chicago. In the summer of 2011, she moved back to Canada and obtained her mortgage agent license working for the Mortgage Centre and as Sales Manager at Torce Capital Inc. She achieved the Top New Mortgage Agent Award in 2012 and has demonstrated a passion and a world of knowledge on real estate investment and mortgage financing.

Phoebe is now the franchise owner and Principal Broker of Mortgage Architects - Radiance Mortgage in Markham, Ontario. She is also an Accredited Mortgage Professional, member of CAAMP and IMBA. She successfully completed the Moody’s Analytics Certification for Analyzing Commercial Real Estate course offered by Canadian Securities Institute. In addition, she is an experienced land investor, actively involved in a number of land development projects in Ontario, Calgary, Florida, California and Washington.
