RESCO is proud to welcome Jeffrey Shek to the new role of Chief Legal Officer effective February 1, 2020.  

Jeffrey was called to the Ontario Bar in 2002 and has practiced law in various different capacities.  Most notably, he was a sole practitioner lawyer for fourteen years at his own firm, where he offered services in real estate transactions, corporate and commercial law, family law, wills and estates, litigation, and dispute resolution.  He also has management experience in the mortgage administration and mortgage investment industries. 

With a wealth of legal knowledge and practical experience, Jeffrey will be responsible to oversee all legal aspects of RESCO’s operations.  He will also act as a liaison with external legal counsel, with whom he will work closely. 

Throughout the years, Jeffrey has been a member of the boards of various not-for profit organizations.   In addition, Jeffrey is a part-time professor at Seneca College. He currently teaches Business Law and Business Ethics courses for the college’s Business Studies Program at Newnham Campus.
