It gives us tremendous pride to announce that our Director of Risk Management, Phoebe Lam, has been nominated for the prestigious RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards. Phoebe has been an owner-operator of RESCO MIC and its related companies since their inception in late-2013. She has also been a central member of the Management Team which successfully grew of our mortgage portfolio from zero to its current size of close to $60M.
As Chief Risk Officer, she was responsible for the creation of the portfolio’s prudent and conservative underwriting guidelines and their ongoing implementation. Through her direct involvement in the underwriting of virtually every lending transaction throughout the years, RESCO MIC has built a risk-minimized, strong and high-yielding mortgage portfolio which has maintained annual dividends at 8% per annum for our valued investors for over seven consecutive years since inception. The RBC Canadian Woman Entrepreneur Awards is the premier national awards program celebrating the achievements of the most successful women entrepreneurs across multiple sectors in Canada. This will be the 29th annual edition of the awards which boasts an impressive list of past winners.
“I am so happy and grateful to receive this nomination,” said Phoebe. “This is a validation of all of the long days and nights of hard work over the years. I think it is fantastic for RBC to have these awards to celebrate the achievement of women. Regardless of whether I win this award, it is a special honour just to be nominated amongst other outstanding female entrepreneurs.”
