Corporate social responsibility has always been a big part of RESCO’s mission, and at no other time has that been more important and necessary.  We are therefore so proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the Carefirst 2021 “Young at Heart” On-Line Charity Gala which took place March 27, 2021.

The event was hosted by Carefirst Foundation and Carefirst Seniors and Community Services Association which was established as a not-for-profit organization in 1976.  Carefirst Seniors and Community Services Association is a leader in providing comprehensive, responsive and client-focused programs to seniors in the Greater Toronto and surrounding areas.  The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the many weaknesses in our health care system and the neglect that Ontario seniors in long-term care continue to face; and at the same time, reminded us how crucial it is to support organizations such as Carefirst.

In recognition of the organization’s expertise and dedication in senior’s care, the Ontario Ministry of Health recently invited Carefirst to work with local hospitals and other service providers in COVID-19 hot zones in Markham.  In addition, Carefirst has been in the process of building a 120-bed long-term care home in Richmond Hill which will also serve as a community hub and medical centre.  RESCO’s financial support of Carefirst will go towards these and other incredible initiatives.
